On March 3, 2026, U.S. Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) introduced a bipartisan, federal version of Trey’s Law to the 119th United States Congress.
On April 29, 2026, U.S. Representatives Brandon Gill (R-TX) and Julie Johnson (D-TX) introduced a House version of Trey’s Law with bipartisan backing.

TREY’S Law seeks to make nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) void and unenforceable in civil settlement agreements related to child sexual abuse and trafficking.
This Law would restore survivors’ voices and ensure that the NDA silencing mechanism is no longer protected in our civil courts under federal law.
